The Circus is in Town!!!
.
.
.
It's almost 72 degrees here. The wind is blowing and the dogs next door can't stay seperated. I woke up this morning and found the circus had come back to town and stuck around for quite a while. Is it just the weather or is it something in the air? It's incredible, whatever it is. I feel like a teenager hopped up on hormones.
The sun in shining and I'm stuck working. At least we get to open the windows and the spring has sprung.

Maurice,

I remember the summer of ’79 very well. It’s when you and I first met. What a joy, what a wonderful boy. There are not many people I’d have flown to San Fran for, back then. At the age of 17, I was only making 2.75 an hour and had to work a long time to pay for the flight. You were worth ever penny.

I’ve watched you grow since then and what a person you’ve turned into, despite having a crappy home life. Crappy parents I should say.

The exiting of your father, at such an early age, had more of an affect on you than you realize. If you want to fill the black hole that resides inside you then you must confront your demons. Those demons are oozing out in places they don’t belong. Ignoring them will only make it worse.

Nobody can do it for you; you must walk the path yourself. That’s the hard part, but, not as hard as keeping those demons at bay. The real problem is that the demons still manage to find their way out and wreak havoc from time to time. The amount of havoc they wreak is unpredictable. The only solution is to tame them.

First things first: Stop drinking. You’re producing all the signs of a raging alcoholic.
Second: Go to http://www.mankindproject.org/ and sign up for a weekend.

I wouldn’t ask you to do anything that I haven’t done myself. I haven’t had a drink in 15 years and I’ve been to more ‘weekends’ than I can count. I’ve worked with some of the best therapists in the city but more importantly I did the work. Now it’s your turn.

Third: read the second half of my first book, “From the Pits to the Pits”. I’ll bring you a copy.

Lastly: Trust me. Call me.

Love,
Uncle Jim
